Saturday, October 21 - A special show highlighting the work of Atlanta filmmakers and photographers
This year's film series will be presented in collaboration with Frequent Small Meals organized by Andy Ditzler, and hosted by Eyedrum. This five-night series will focus on films by and about photographers and will have one evening dedicated to local filmmakers. "There fore I Live," this year's film series, will feature Home Movies, Diary Films, and Avant-Garde Screenings.

Long before Hollywood epics and the world historical events of newsreels, filmmakers were training cameras in their own lives. In 1895 the Lumeire brothers astonished audiences with motion pictures of workers leaving a factory and parents feeding a baby. Later amateur filmmakers sought to document their own lives with home movies, leaving valuable records of a now extinct culture. Using handheld cameras, anthropologists and travelers filmed their journeys with a passion that created paradoxically personal works. And within the avant-garde, film artists have used home movie aesthetic to create works, which range from poetic to slyly subversive. "Therefore I Live" presents a selection of works from the last 110 years, showing the beauty and power of personal filmmaking.
