Laura W. Adams
Return of the Waxwings
Collage on canvas
60" x 48"

Catherine Kelleghan Gallery is featuring Laura W. Adams of Savannah with her first solo exhibit in Atlanta called "Down a Paper Trail." Since leaving her law career behind some 13 years ago, Adams has followed her muse to their cabin in the mountains where she winds down her busy life to the rhythms of the land. Her elaborate collages are drawn from that place and are immediately recognizable and mesmerizing. Each piece has ten or more layers of textured and patterned papers and thousands of hand-torn and cut out pieces of exotic papers. The result is a "painting" with a distinct, three-dimensional effect using only paper! The artist will be in attendance from 7-9 p.m. and will give several short presentations about her work using a video created by HGTV.

Reggie Laurent
House Full of Love
Acrylic on canvas
48" x 48"

Join us Thursday, April 1 from 7 - 10 pm as we welcome Atlanta`s own Reggie Laurent to our Buckhead Gallery Walk.

"The beauty of art, and abstract in particular, is the inability to `recreate` a true original ... there`s only one. The end result of any painting is wholly contingent on a mood and environment that can only exist one time. I intuitively know what to do, and what I can`t achieve by intuition, the language in the painting guides me, speaks to me and lets me what to do. I rely on my years of experience as well as a freethinking approach when painting. Although every work requires decisions by the hundreds, I really don`t think much at all when I hold the brush. I just let it happen." - Reggie Laurent
