As we welcome Atlanta`s own,Reggie Laurent
Described as a "master colorist", Laurent is one of the premier abstract artists in the United States.
The artist states, "The beauty of art, and abstract in particular, is the inability to `recreate` a true original ... there`s only one. The end result of any painting is wholly contingent on a mood and environment that can only exist one time. My execution is by no means an exact science. I intuitively know what to do, and what I can`t achieve by intuition, the language in the painting guides me, speaks to me and lets me what to do. I rely on my years of experience as well as a freethinking approach when painting. Although every work requires decisions by the hundreds, I really don`t think much at all when I hold the brush. I just let it happen."
